Today at Sweetspot, I made a passing comparison between my daughter and Rachel Berry the loveable pain-in-the-ass on Glee. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that comparison is slightly off base. My daughter isn’t like Rachel Berry, the character. My daughter is like Lea Michele, the actress.
In fact, I’d argue that all toddlers are like Lea Michele.
Here’s a quick list I’ve compiled about my daughter:
- Prone to tantrums
- Likes to sing
- Craves attention
- Short in stature
- A girl
- Makes unreasonable demands
- Cries theatrically
- Unwilling photographed by adoring fans.
Now tell me if I haven’t accurately described the diva-like behaviour of Glee star Lea Michele? Not that I’ve personally encountered it. Or that I’ve read about it on celebrity gossip blogs like Lainey Gossip. Or that I’m even admitting that I watch Glee. Nope.
It’s just that my daughter is uncannily like Lea Michele. Or Lea Michele is uncannily like my daughter.
